Although one of our most searched items on our site has been "dryer balls", we didn't supply them for a very long time because we couldn't find an affordable supplier that we trusted; that's until we found Friendsheep.
What Are Dryer Balls?
Dryer balls are the eco friendly alternative to dryer sheets. Dryer sheets are bad because they're made of plastic fibers that emit micro plastics into our waterways, they release harmful chemicals, and are single-use products.
Dryer balls are good because they naturally soften and fluff your laundry, while helping to reduce drying time by 20-40% (depending on load size). When used properly, they can last over 1000 loads! And if you want a fragrance, you can add drops of essential oils to them.
Friendsheep is one of the best companies we stock. They hire underprivileged and disabled women in Kathmandu, Nepal and pay them good wages to lovingly hand make these dryer balls. Friendsheep also sources their wool from cruelty free family farms in New Zealand, and then reinvest their profits into reforestation projects.
Cruelty-Free
Most cheap wool dryer balls (many of which are sold on Amazon) are made in China under questionable manufacturing practices and sheep welfare. Even when they advertise it as otherwise. to learn more about sheep/wool cruelty click here.

New Product! to be added soon
I do find the Mama Earth one leaves a lot of dark-colored lint in the lint catcher. If I should want to purchase another set I think I will stick to all white ones. Otherwise, I enjoy using them and place a few drops of essential oil on them before drying. It gives my clothes a very faint smell.
I was sick of using dryer sheets, and didn't like the idea of plastic dryer balls, so I decided to give these a try. They definitely make clothes and towels much fluffier, and I feel good about using something much more eco friendly than plastic. I would definitely recommend these to people!
I was surprised that I liked these dryer balls as much as I did. My clothes seem softer and less wrinkled, and I love not using the chemicals in dryer sheets. I’ve given these as gifts to friends and family who hadn’t tried them yet and have heard only good reviews. Why haven’t we been using these for years!
These are great! I wasn't a fabric softener or dryer sheet user so the fact that my laundry comes out of the dryer soft is novel and pretty cool. I was afraid they would be loud and scare my cat but they aren't at all. I don't know if they cut drying time that much, I just never took notice of drying time really. Highly recommend.
So far, I love these. No more wasting drier sheets, and they also seem to be living up to the promise of reducing drying time!
