Our team at Ecoternatives did a lot of research on the most effective and affordable laundry detergent sheets. What we found was that Earth Breeze was simply the best. Here's a link to see how they fair against most competitors.

These sheets suspend all the necessary cleaning ingredients in a biodegradable resin. Why ship plastic and water across the world when you can just ship these paper concentrates?

They're also great for those with sensitive skin, or those who don't want carcinogens or synthetic fragrances on them.

Hypoallergenic, vegan, bleach-free, paraben-free, and phosphate-free. Compatible with all HE washers.

Made by a carbon neutral company that donates a portion of all sales to environmental efforts + poverty relief.

About The Brand

Firstly, for every package Earth Breeze sells, they donate 10 sheets to those in need, including homeless shelters, veteran’s organizations, women’s shelters, and disaster relief efforts.

Secondly, Earth Breeze is cruelty free and vegan. There is no need to harm animals for laundry detergent.

Thirdly, they’re part of ‘1% For The Planet’ – an organization whose members commit 1% of revenue to non-profits to use in the most impactful way possible.

And finally, Earth Breeze is 100% carbon-neutral. This means that not only are their facilities and offices carbon-neutral, but their entire supply chain.

The Environmental Problem

Up to 80% of laundry detergent is just water with a bit of synthetic chemicals. We don't need all that plastic to transport water!

Especially at a time when less than 9% of plastic is being recycled in America.

In terms of health, most mainstream detergents and manufacturers are using some seriously toxic chemicals.

Many of which manufacturers are not even required to disclose. The five most concerning are:

Phosphates - These are particularly damaging to the marine environment when dispersed in wastewater from your wash. They create algae blooms that starve marine flora and fauna of oxygen.

Formaldehyde - A chemical usually associated with the preservation of dead bodies, this ingredient as classified by the EPA as a class B1 probable carcinogen. This means it has been linked with an increased risk of cancer. In the marine biome is has been linked to reproductive impairment.

Ammonium Sulfate and Ammonium Quaternary Sanitizers - harsh cleansing agents that are corrosive. They can cause eye, skin, and lung damage even with minimal exposure to both human and marine life.

Dioxane (1,4 Dioxane/ Diethylene Dioxide/ Diethylene Ether/ Dioxan) is quite possibly one of the worst additives. Dioxane is also a carcinogen and exposure in marine environments impairs the central nervous system, eyes, and skin/scales of marine animals.

Surfacants - Surfactants deteriorate the protective mucus layer that coats fish that protects them from parasites and bacteria.

How crazy is this? We think people should be aware of what many manufactures are trying to hide.

YESSSSSSSS

this is coming from a college student with sensitive skin. i saw ads for earth breeze all the time on instagram, so when i saw it on here, i decided to finally try it out. IT WORKS. use another product for stains, but otherwise it does a great job at cleaning everyday laundry. they're super lightweight so i don't have to worry about carrying a jug of laundry detergent AND my load of clothes to the communal laundry room. i use the unscented ones for my sensitive, acne-prone skin and haven't had any issues. definitely recommend :-)

Fully Made the Switch

I bought one pack to try out and was actually very surprised at how well these worked. I have been trying to find a different alternative to the traditional laundry detergent soap because of all the horrible things I’ve read about it and I was pleasantly impressed with these sheets. I just put several more packs. Plus, they’re great to have when staying at air bnbs and I need to do some laundry.

Really Great Alternative to other Detergents

This product works really well. Sometimes I use two sheets instead of one to get my clothes extra clean. I've been programmed to think that clean = strong fragrance/ chemical smells + bubbles, but that's not necessarily true. This soap cleans very well. The Fresh Scent has a very mild scent, barely noticeable at all but I don't mind. It got rid of stinky odors well and that's good enough for me! Overall 9/10.
